The True Sabbath Day of God and Christ as Written

The True Sabbath Day of God and Christ as Written

Genesis 2:2-3 (KJV)
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.
3 And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

Exodus 16:25-26 (KJV)
25 And Moses said, Eat that today; for today is a sabbath unto the LORD: today ye shall not find it in the field.
26 Six days ye shall gather it; but on the seventh day, which is the sabbath, in it there shall be none.

Exodus 20:8 (KJV)
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

Exodus 31:14-16 (KJV)
14 Ye shall keep the sabbath; therefore, for it is holy unto you: every one that defiles it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.

Matthew 12:8 (KJV)
8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Matthew 12:11-12 (KJV)
11 And he said unto them, What man shall there be among you, that shall have one sheep, and if it fall into a pit on the sabbath day, will he not lay hold on it, and lift it out?
12 How much then is a man better than a sheep? Wherefore it is lawful to do well on the sabbath days.

As we can see from these scriptures the sabbath day (Exodus 20:8).

Hebrew Strong’s Number: 7676 Hebrew Word: ‏שַׁבָּת‎ Transliteration: shabbāt

Vine’s Words: Cease (To)

intensive from <H7673> (shabath); intermission, i.e. (specific) the Sabbath :- (+ every) sabbath.

Is God’s day of rest, the seven day of the week Sabbath, from which we have Saturday. A day meant solely for doing the Work of God Only. God’s day for Mankind to worship Him alone.

So according to the Word as written our day of worship is to be Saturday or Sabbath Day, the seventh day of the week.

Now the Church of Man, i.e. Christian Church, out of their own arrogance, have chosen the first day of the week, Sunday, as their day of rest or worship, the day of Christ Resurrection. Because it is written;

Matthew 28:1-3 (KJV)
1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
2 And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
3 His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

Now, even though it is written in the scriptures, does not change God’s commandment to keep the Sabbath Day, the last day or seventh day of the week.

So, in honoring both God and Christ we must keep Saturday, the Sabbath Day, seventh day, as by God’s Commandment and we should also worship on Sunday, the first day, to honor Christ and His sacrifice for our sins unto salvation.
