God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus

God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus

Philippians 4:18-20 (KJV)
18 But I have all, and abound I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well pleasing to God.

19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
20 Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Brothers and Sisters, all too often we hear the Word being used to support someone’s point that they are trying put across. But using a passage out of context, which usually makes the wrong impression, for it is a half truth and not the whole truth. Case in point the above passages Philippians 4, people love to use verse 19, but not in its entirety, quoting “God shall supply all your need” or they will quote the whole verse but not give it in context.

And the most common point is, that all we have to do is believe and ask and God pays off. Not giving the whole truth which says, we must be Born Again of the Indwelling to receive anything from God through Christ.

Now take Philippines 4:18-20 with the following passages and see God’s whole truth.

Matthew 7:21-23 (KJV)
21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

John 3:5-7 (KJV)
5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

1 John 3:2-11 (KJV)
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresses also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
6 Whosoever abides in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

7 Little children let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose, the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.

11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Now, let us all try and prove ourselves to be worthy by teaching the whole truth of God’s Word. All for the sake of salvation, ours and others. For if we believe in and teach half truths who can we believe God is going to believe our confession and repentance? Or how can another we teach find God for themselves?
